Sec. 10. The district attorney, county surveyor, county assessor, county tax collector,
county auditor, and county treasurer of the County of San Benito, and their successors
in office, and all their assistants, deputies, clerks, and employees, and all other
officers of San Benito County, their assistants, deputies, clerks and employees, shall
be ex officio officers, assistants, deputies, clerks, and employees, respectively,
of the San Benito County Water District and shall respectively perform, unless otherwise
provided by the board, the same various duties for the district as for San Benito
County, in order to carry out this act; provided, however, that if the county surveyor
is a registered civil engineer and is employed by the board of directors to supervise
the engineering work of the district, the board may provide for compensation for his
or her services hereunder payable from the funds of the district, in addition to the
person's salary as county surveyor of San Benito County.
