§ 70-14. Petition for project; investigation; determination by board.

  • Sec. 14. Upon written petition of not less than either 50 landowners or 50 percent of the landowners of any area of the district, asking assistance under this act, the board shall investigate the recommendations of the petition and shall decide whether or not to proceed with the carrying out of said recommendations, as provided in this act.

    Said petition shall contain a general description of the area believed to benefit, and of the work asked to be done, together with an estimated cost of said work. The board shall determine which projects or works of improvement shall be carried out and shall determine, as to each project or work of improvement, that it is either:

    1.

    For the benefit of a single zone.

    2.

    For the common benefit of two or more zones hereinafter referred to as participating zones.
